HEALTH AND SOCIAL WORKERS EDUCATION FACILITIES

As part of the efforts of the Government of Serbia and the entire society to improve the overall social, material and educational status of health and social care employees, Megatrend University has provided education opportunities for employees in this sector at all three levels of education. These are the conditions of education envisaged by the long-term cooperation agreement signed between Megatrend University and the Union of Employees in Health and Social Care of the Republic of Serbia.

“This agreement deepens the very successful cooperation between the Trade Union and Megatrend’s academic family so far,” Dr Zoran Savic, President of the Trade Union, said at the signing. “In addition to the benefits of the terms of lectures, consultations and exams – which are adjusted to the obligations of employees – the signed act today provides for financial relief: all members of the Union will pay half the tuition fee, and the same discount will be enjoyed by their family members.”

Prof. Mica Jovanovic, PhD, Rector of Megatrend, reminded that this university brings together 12 different faculties with more than 60 study programs. “All of our faculties are accredited, and the labor market has recognized the value of the staff who are studying here,” said Prof. Jovanovic. “Our graduate students enter the world of work with experience already gained, as they go to practice in the most reputable institutions and businesses, including health and social care.”

Academician Ljubisa Rakic, President of the University Council, assessed the cooperation of Megatrend with the Trade Union as very important for the atmosphere in this important area.

“I look forward to this two-way collaboration; it portrays the activities of the Trade Union in a good light – as it is obvious that this professional organization not only cares about narrower trade union issues, but also takes into account issues of fundamental denial for the position of its membership, “said Academician Rakic.

The signing of the contract was also attended by prof. Predrag Jelenkovic, PhD, Member of Parliament, Mihajlo Govedarica, Secretary of the Republican Committee of the Trade Union, and Bosko Jovanovic, Assistant Rector of Megatrend.
