PRESS RELEASE ON MEGATREND NON-PRINCIPAL ATTACKS

Megatrend University implements its curricula in accordance with the Law, applicable regulations of the Republic of Serbia and the highest international standards.

Coincidentally or not, in the year of Jubilee, 30 years since it was founded, it continues to attempt to collapse its credibility and again challenges this institution for the sake of other people’s political ambitions and aspirations to power, which seriously harms the University and academic citizens who have acquired or acquired their knowledge of the 12 colleges of this institution of higher education.

Challenging someone’s academic degree from a Megatrend University to attend an undergraduate, master or doctoral degree implies that this university does not operate within the legal framework, and therefore all employees and students protest sharply because of blatant lies and damage to our university’s reputation.

We completely reject, as untrue and malicious, the insinuations that any of our students obtained their degrees illegally.

The study program, which existed from 1990 to 2004, and which trained 1054 students, was fully in accordance with the regulations of our country and in accordance with the standards of education offered by a higher education institution.

Nebojsa Stefanovic, like all other students, completed law, master’s and doctoral studies lawfully, fulfilling all prescribed conditions and criteria of the Republic of Serbia.

Political struggles, wherever they come from, must be reasonable and without false accusations, and moral and ethical codes impose civilized frameworks.

Megatrend University recalls that in 2008 the then President of Serbia, Boris Tadic, gave a lecture on “Serbia, Europe, the World” to more than a thousand students, in the very year of the rise of the Democratic Party, but also of Dragan Djilas, by accident; for this he was defined by the credibility and reputation of this institution, recognized in Europe and in the world. Just then, he outlined a vision of our country’s place and role in global security and economic relations. Former Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic also gave a lecture to hundreds of Megatrend students in 2010. What has changed in just a few years, and since when did the institution and its disputing and demolition last?

At the same time, we would like to point out that many people from the Democratic Party, but also from other parties, celebrities, sports legends, attended and graduated from this university. All of them are being harmed, especially by the University, which has invested over decades in the development of modern education, which is an integral part of the education of the Republic of Serbia.

Many of our academic citizens, after studying at Megatrend, have continued their education at eminent world universities or pursued successful business and academic careers, as faculty teachers or professionals at various companies. At the same time, Megatrend University has for years employed a significant number of professors, scientists, local and world-renowned, recognized in their professions.

Megatrend University has already suffered damage, and is still suffering the consequences of unprincipled political showdowns. In order to defend the dignity of Megatrend University, employees and all students, we urge that the political ring be urgently moved outside the educational institutions that could cause untold damage. Political points are earned through hard work and dedication, by plan and program, by the trust of citizens, not by fabrication and untruths.
