Milutin Mrkonjić (1942 – 2021)

 

Mr. Mrkonjić completed Civil Engineering in Belgrade – Department of Roads, Airports and Railways. He was the first Director of “Traffic Institute CIP,” which during the period of his leadership, until 2001, became the most significant research, development, engineering and design company in the former Yugoslavia and in this part of Europe. After the NATO bombing, he led the Directorate for the reconstruction of the country.

He has been the Minister of Infrastructure from 2008 to 2012, and Minister for Transport of the Republic of Serbia from 2012 to 2013. For many mandates, he was a Deputy in the Serbian Parliament and for some period the Deputy Chairman.

Working for 30 years on the implementation of the most important projects in the field of transport, he contribute the essential infrastructure projects in the former Yugoslavia.

Being the first President of the Council of Megatrend University from 1981 to 1993, and for many years of involvement, friendship and support, Megatrend University awarded Mr. Mrkonjic an Honorary Doctorate in 2009  for all his significant contribution to the choice of strategy development and promotion of the education system of University.
